Trade Show Photography: CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020

This year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG tradeshow was met with the announcement of the COVID-19 pandemic near the beginning of March. From exhibitors to attendees, everyone showed amazing cooperation in keeping hands sanitized. In addition, many adopted the “Coronavirus fist bump” for greetings. The convention photography below shows an impressive turnout. As companies like Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kobellco, Kubota, Case Construction and John Deere gathered at the Las Vegas Convention Center in mid March, Key Lime Photography was honored to be a trade show photographer. Attendance rolled in just over 2,000 construction, asphalt and earthmoving exhibitors. These big toys brought over 130,000 attendees the the Las Vegas space. The CONEXPO trade show continues to be the largest construction expo in North America. It sprawls over 2.7 million net square feet of exhibit space to accommodate large crowds, demos, competitions and displays.

Photography Tools for the Job

You might guess that construction photography offers some unique challenges, and you’d be right! Unless appropriate measures are taken, shooting these massive machines can result in some warped and distorted imagery. Finding the best angle and perspective are key to creating an accurate sense of how big this equipment really is. Another element of construction photography is capturing brands and messaging. These are two things that companies like Caterpillar and Komatsu have worked hard to establish. As with all of our tradeshow photography, Key Lime Photography aims to:

  • Boast branding by emphasizing brand colors
  • Capture candid interaction and engagement between attendees and exhibitors
  • Seek out smiles and other evidence of positive tradeshow experience
  • Amass a variety of images from detail shots to wide shots that create a sense of space
  • Lastly, WE FIT IN! We wear attire and carry an energy that matches our clients’ so that attendees maintain an accurate perception of their favorite brands

CONEXPO allows these companies to come together every three years to showcase the latest trends in construction equipment, technologies and services. As Las Vegas tradeshow photographers, we see many conventions throughout the year. Believe us, this is definitely one to check out when presented with the opportunity. If you missed the show this year, don’t fret. They have already locked down the dates for the next show which is scheduled for March 14-18th of 2023 in Las Vegas. Here are some examples of our engaging trade show booth photography at this year’s show.
